History

Started in 1992, SPC Card is now Canada’s biggest student loyalty program. It all started with a vision: the founder, Dean Mazzariol, felt that there was an untapped opportunity to provide students with exceptional savings on the products and services they love. It’s now been over 20 years of SPC providing students with discounts and deals at thousands of stores and restaurants across Canada. From Forever 21 to ALDO, Urban Planet and Taco Bell; SPC is a real win for both students and retailers combined.

20 years is a long time, and in that time we’ve done tons of cool stuff. In the last few years alone we’ve reached over 15,000 retail locations and added new partners like Forever 21, TopShop, Taco Bell, Mucho Burrito, Garage and more. That makes us the largest location based loyalty program in Canada. We keep it fresh by engaging with our members, like sponsoring the VMA’s, hosting a massive matching game in the heart of downtown Toronto, and filling a wind machine with money. It doesn’t end there, our partnership with BMO combines the deals students love with easy, student-friendly every day banking… Plus, we even have our own credit card.

Enough about how cool we are, let’s talk about how amazing our 1.1 million members are. Not only are our student members fashion forward, money smart, and passionate - they’re also insanely creative. We encourage our members to be creative and engage with us on various social platforms, and for over 20 years they’ve done exactly that. For the past 2 years we have proved their commitment to us by sharing their #realstudentproblems (Seriously look it up on Twitter, you'll see what we mean)
